Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

my dad was back in canada for christmas while he was away his car was used without him knowing and was involved in an accident and the people left the scene, he does not know who used his car, what does he need to do in regards to the letter he got in the mail regarding the accident?

He should contact his insurance company and be completely truthful. If he did not report the call stolen, he is going to lose his argument about someone taking his car. I am not saying your dad is not telling the truth, for I do not know him, but experience tells me that he better be truthful because if he is not his insurance co will deny the claim and he will be holding the bag.

Mr. Marino is correct. He must notify his insurance company immediately. How did someone get his keys to use his car? Was it returned to him prior to his return from vacation so he did not even know it was involved in an accident? Was there damage to the car and was it repaired?
