About the trial in a lcivil litigation

in a car accident, the plaintiff has a permanent injurie. When the trial coming, the defendant did not show up, but the plaintiff wins the trial. It is true that the plaintiff can not collect any money,.. and Are there any law to enforce the defendant to attend the trial? Thanks.

If the plaintiff obtained a money judgment against the defendant, the plaintiff may seek to collect the judgment against the plaintiff. Whether the defendant has any money to collect is another matter.
