Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Dog and Condominium / Condo Association

I moved into a new condo several months ago. We are renting the condo from a landlord who is not affiliated with the financial corporation that owns the building. Upon signing our lease with our landlord, we were told that we were permitted to have a dog, and she was aware of the size and breed of the dog. Recently, it has been brought to our attention by the ''condo management'' that the condo assoc. forbids any renter (not owner) of a condo in the building to own any pet, whatsoever (which seemingly would include fish). What can we as renters do to keep our innocent fish and dog? We have not received any complaints concerning our having fish or a dog from anyone in the building, other than the condo manager, a member of the financial corporation that owns the building. Please help.

Re: Dog and Condominium / Condo Association

Your complaint is with your landlord who misled you. Contact him, perhaps he can intervene on your behalf. The Condo has its right to enforce its rules.
