Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

real estate division of property equity

my ex-fiance and i own a home together equally on the deed and mortgage i have paid half of all expenses. this is the second home we have owned together. by my paying half of the household costs for the past 10 years it allowed him to save for the down payments. he has always made alot more money than i have and have also contributed to the household by housekeeping and cooking. he refuses to or buy me out and says i am not entitled to my half of the equity because his check made the down payment he id extremely unpleasant to live with but i fear that if i leave i will lose my investment.can i force him to buy me out or sell the property and am i entitlrd to half of the equity my funds are limited to engage in a court battle please advise

Re: real estate division of property equity

Your remedy is an action in partition which would force a sale. Good luck.
