Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Return Taxes to Owner of Quit Claim Deed

My aunt has a home that was originally purchased by her son. He could no longer pay for the home and decided to grant her rights through quit claim deed back in 1980 something. She has been making the payments for years and somehow he's recently changed the taxes back to himself. Can she have this overturned so that she can continue paying the taxes and how?

If he deeded the property to her and it was properly executed and recorded, her ownership is secure. One can often change where the county sends the tax bill by giving them a change of address. She needs to contact the tax appraiser and/or tax collector for the county where the property is located to correct where they send the tax bill.
