Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

Business partner

I have a business partner on a dot com. We are suppose to be splitting all of the profits and expenses 50/50. I have caught him twice taking MUCh more than half, and now we possibly have legal problems because of his dirty deals with clients (he's ripping them off as well). We have a verbal agreement that we are partners, though I started the site a month before I asked him to partner with me. Can I just tell him to go away, and dissolve the partnership without having to go to court?

Re: Business partner

You can see a lawyer to handle things correctly, or try to resolve this yourself and compound the initial mistake of not having a lawyer. "Verbal agreements" in starting a business are just asking for problems just like the one you have and telling a business partner to "go away" is far from the appropriate way to handle your business.

Re: Business partner

In other words, have a business attorney review the situation and have partnership dissolution papers drawn up and executed by both partners. For future reference, partnerships are not a good business type, especially when you only have a verbal partnership agreement.
