Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

Please help, I am a 23 year old girl that lives in georgia. I received a " 30 day temporary restraining order" in the mail today. Long story short, I was at a party drinking, saw this girl that my x boyfriend had cheated on me with, she was drinking and I was pretty intoxicated so I sent her threatining text messages and found her later at the party and hit her approximately 4 times. She filed a report a few days later. I feel awful about this incident because I do not remember most of it but at the same time I cannot afford to pay up to $1000 in fees if the Judge approves a 1 year restraining order. This is my first offense and there has been a 2 year history between me and this girl "trash-talking" each other on various occasions. What advice can anyone give me when I speak to the judge?

Get a lawyer. You also could be criminally charged with a felony, terroristic threats, and battery. You could end up in jail.

If you attempt to talk to the judge, which is prohibited, you also could be found in contempt.

Before you speak to the judge, you should at least consult with a local attorney. He/she will know how your local judges are handling cases like this.
