Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Georgia

Being Treated The Same except ME?

I'm a 3rd shift supervisor. We have been working 2 shifts for several month. My plant manager ask if I can work 2nd for a little bit to do some cross traning with the 2nd shift supervisor. I told him it would be hard being a 1 parent dad with a 4 year old that is in school. I would have to depend on someone to pick him up at school and then pick him up at around 12 at night after work. He said he would try to work around it and he did. Then today I was told they was no forecast for but 2 shifts next year and jobs would be awarded by seniority and was except mine I've been there longer than 2 shift supervisor. His reply was I said I couldn't work 2nd. I didn't say this and it was just know today that it would be a perminted thing. Is this not Discrimination? They want me to take a 5 dollar cut. I was not ask like everyone else as far as seniority.

Re: Being Treated The Same except ME?

No, its not discrimination unless you can show that you are being treated differently because of your age (over 40) race, sex, national origin or disability. Try to find what the explanation is as to why you were not offered the position.
