Legal Question in Education Law in Georgia

Can a teacher get away with wrong grades?

Im a sophmore in high school and on the Friday before finals I had to check out of school to go to the cardiologist. Prior to leaving I went to each teacher that i would not see in class to get my work and see if I needed to turn anything in. My teacher told me that i could leave and I had nothing to do or turn in. She proceeded to give me a 0 on a calander that was due that day which caused my grade to drop 5 points in an honors class, from an A to a B in an ho. I am a straight A student and have never made a B before. The teacher told my dad that she felt she wasn't responsible for telling me to turn in the calander and it's my fault when i went to her and asked her if it was due. The teacher also began telling other teachers and students that I left school (my parents decided to homeschool me because of this, not being allowed to switch teachers and bullying) because I got a B and couldn't handle it. I was forced to re-enter the school because i would not be able to participate in mock trial where i was lead attorney as 2 years running. The handbook does not say a teacher can withhold work at her discresion and and never speaks of the 25 point per day deduction for late grades which she is ''using.'' What can I do?

This will not be the last jerk of a teacher you face. Forget about it and move on.
