Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

legal marriage?

My wife and I were married in Mexico.(we are both US citizens) We are seperating. Are we legally married in US? And do we need to legally divorce in US court?

Mexican marriages are valid in the U.S. so if you complied with Mexican law, you are married. Since you live in the U.S., the divorce would be here. Call me if I can assist you with this.

Assuming you dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's, i.e., if your marriage was valid in Mexico, it is recognized here. If you meet the six-month residency requirement, you can file here.
