Legal Question in Immigration Law in Georgia

What happens when petitioner refuses to marry the beneficiary?

The beneficiary, female, had an on-line relationship for over two years. The man visited her in her country then filed for fiancee visa. Visa was granted and he paid for plane tickets for her (and her 17 year old daughter) to come to US. Now she is here and he refuses to marry her and will not give her money to buy a return ticket (!). Wants her to move out (where, to the street?) Doesn't he have to provide return transportation. Also, can she sue for some sort of ''breach of promise''?. After all, they had a two year on-line relationship, engagement ring, all the work for a K1 visa, fly her here and then says ''never mind''. (He has considerable assets.)

Re: What happens when petitioner refuses to marry the beneficiary?

If the K-1 Beneficiary does not marry the K-1 Petitioner within 90 days of entry, the K-1 is out of status and must go home.

Unfortunately, he is not required to provide return transportation.

You can check in your state with a family law practioner, but most states do not allow an action for breach of promise to marry.

I'm sorry the news is not better.
