Attendance and Sick Leave

Can my employment be terminated because my son has been ill and I have been absent 11 days in the past 11 months? I have provided my employer with documentation for these absences(doctors' excuses).

It depends. If you have been with the company for more than a year, and the company has more than 50 employees within a 75 mile radius, you may be protected under the Family Medical Leave Act, which provides you with up to 12 weeks of time off per year to tend to your minor son. If you have not been with the company for more than a year, or the company does not have the requisite number of employees, there probably is no protection.
