Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

My job gave their employes a week off for the hoildays. But when they found out that the work we was doing wasn't going to be done before we leave they changed it and told us we had to come to work. But when we said we wasn't goin to come they threatened to not pay us for our hoilday pay. Can they do that?

Generally, yes (assuming they don't violate a contract or other laws). Sometimes work has to be done, holiday or not. Many employees may find themselves out of a job if they refused to follow the employer's requests, and employers tend to remember things like that. It is nice to have a week off, but there is no legal right to it. Many people would probably like to have a job to go to this week.
