Our old landlord kept our cat and said we abandoned it. Can we press charges against her for stealing our cat?

You are being a little vague about what you mean when you say your landlord "kept" your cat. What does that mean, EXACTLY? Did you leave your cat? If so, you should be thanking your landlord.
