Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

person won't leave

My dad has a house that has been in great need of repair. He does not live in the house, at this time it is unliveable. He is paying a man to work on the house and the man also has parked his camper on the property, which is his full time residence. My dad has paid all the electricity bills, etc. for this camper to be there. He has paid for all costs of construction, labor and materials. The problem is my dad is giving him money but the work is not being done. My dad has asked him to leave and he claims he will call the labor board and sue my dad. Does he have any legal rights? There is no lease or renters contract, just a verbal agreement to live there while he completes the work only the work is not being done. HELP

Re: person won't leave

If your father agreed to allow him to love on the property, then he will have to give him 60 days' notice to vacate the property. If no work is being done, then your father would have a breach of contract claim against the handyman.
