Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

I was parked in a lot with a fire lane that ran behind the parking spots. A person parked their car in the fire lane and while backing up i scraped them. No accident report was made and the person is asking me for $300 to repair the scape. Am i obligated by law to pay them anything?

You are responsible for what you hit when you are driving. Since you don't provide enough facts to indicate this is not the case, most likely you owe. Even if the other car made it difficult for you to back out, you should have seen it before you tried back out and called the police to have it towed.

You damaged someone's car and don't think you need to pay? Of course you do. It's your fault.

Presumably you reported this to your insurer and they'll pay it for you.

In the future, always call the police and do a report. In some cases it is a crime not to. It almost always causes problems regardless.
