Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

slip & Fall on Front porch

Holloween evening and a pack of girls ran up to our front door to ''Trick or Treat''. One of them (12yrs old I think) slipped and fell and busted her nose on our porch. We helped with towels and comfort. Three weeks later we got a letter from her Farther asking that we file under our HomeOwners insurance. He said the bills were getting too high for him to out right pay. I presume an ER visit and mayb a Doctore to reset it. We don't want to piss off a neighbor but we don't want our premiuns to skyrocket either. Do we have to file under our insurance? What do we have to do?

Thanks

If you fail to report it, and get sued, your insurer will not defend you or pay the claim, and will probably cancel you later. Reporting is very important.

There is probably no liability but you may have some medical payments coverage of perhaps $1000 to $2000, which does not require fault, that could help out with their medical bills. I would not expect a med pay claim like this to have any significant effect on your premiums.
