Claim to property due to maintenance

Do you have any legal claim to property that you have maintained for over 20 years with no contest from any other owner?

Probably not, unless you had some reason to believe the property was yours at the outset, and your actions since then fit a very strict pattern required by law to give you a claim to adverse possession.

No, one does not gain any ownership in real property merely from maintaining it, even if the other owner sat back and allowed it. If the two owners have no doubt about the ownership, there is likely no issue. If there is more to the story, you may want to re-post. Otherwise, you can see a lawyer who specializes in real estate matters, not just a lawyer who claims to handle that and many other unrelated areas.
