Re: sexual harrassment inquiry

In Georgia, unfortunately private workers have few rights relating to discipline and dismissal. An employer can dismiss an employee for any reason, even a bad one, as long as it is not prohibited by a very small number of narrowly drawn Georgia state and federal laws.

If you a government worker, you have more rights relating to discipline.

Assuming your employer is non-governmental, it is possible that you can be disciplined for out of work behavior against a co-worker. However, more facts are needed. If you are truly concerned about your rights, you should seek a free telephone or office consultation with an employment lawyer in your area.
