Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia

VA driver license speeding ticket in Georgia

Hi,

I was cited on Interstate 16 in Georgia for speeding at 90mph on a 70 mph zone. The ticket did not mention any fine but mentioned a court date. As me being from out of state & figured that I will not be able to make it to court date called up the Court clerk and she said the fine would be $409. My question is 20mph over the limit in VIRGINIA is automatic reckless but as I was cited for ticket in GEORGIA , will that be RECKLESS on my record when GEORGIA DMV passes the information to VIRGINIA DMV. Also, there will not be any ARREST WARRANT's AFTER PAYING MY $409.00 FINE RITE?

I am just confused with inconsistent informationn on line.

thanks,

jay

Re: VA driver license speeding ticket in Georgia

From your message it sounds like you were ticketed for "speeding"...If you weren't charged with reckless driving then you can't be convicted of it. It is possible the Georgia violation will transfer to Virginia but it would be for speeding and nothing else. Once you pay the fine and follow all the instructions on the ticket, the court will take no further action..
