Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

I have been Dad's poa for 10 years. My Dad owns a property rental business. When he became physically disabled 6 years ago, I took over the management of his business. He passed away January 17, 2010. I am now the executrix of my Dad's Estate. I have a brother who is in prison. My Dad left 72.5% to me and 27.5% to my brother. My brother has a Daughter who is his poa. His Daughter has been a thorne in our family's life for many years and mooching off my Mom & Dad. She is only interested in what she can get. She is mad & says that she is going to have me audited for my poa term as well as the term I am now serving and also my personal bank records. Can she do this?

She can challenge you as the executor and demanding an accounting of the estate. Your father may have relieved you of the accounting requirements and the probate court may have issued the testamentary letters without an accounting requirement.

If you need more information on your rights and responsibilities as an executor/personal represenative read the Georgia probate court's website. www.gaprobate.org.
