Is probate a legal requirement for Georgia with a valid will and only approximately $1900 in assets at death? For my 95 year-old Mother whose will left assets equally to my sister and me ,her only children.

There is a way to do an expedited and quick probate. Contact an attorney in the county of her residence at the time of her death.

The answer to this requires looking up Georgia probate law. They probably will allow probate by affidavit or a simplified proceeding in the case you describe.
