Legal Question in Workers Comp in Georgia

Deposition

Do I have to answer arrest questions in a deposition. If this is a work comp case? Can I just state the year maybe and no other info like what I was arrested for? How do I answer these types of questions that are not related to the case if I choose not to? I know I will be under oath but I still should have rights to what I want to answer that are personal.

Re: Deposition

Generally, whether you have been arrested can not be submitted as evidence to impeach your credibility (only evidence of a felony or crime of moral turpitude is admissible). However, if you testify that you have never been in trouble before, prior arrests can be used to impeach your testimony. So, as long as you have not testified that you have never been in trouble with the law, I believe you have a valid objection to the line of questioning and can refuse to answer.
