Legal Question in Business Law in Hawaii

Can Candians Establish A Business In The U.S.?

Is it possible for 3 Canadian citizens to establish and run a business in Hawaii, if so, is it better to establish the business in the U.S. or establish it in Canada, go international, and open a location in the U.S.? This is a small business with very little initial investment required, probably between $7K - $12K.

As well, if any of this is possible is it also possible for the three Canadian owners to work for the company while in the U.S., if so, for how long may they reside in the U.S. as business owners?

Yes, of course, I need more information on what you intend to do but Canadians can establish a corp. in Canada and it can be registered as a foreign corp. in Hawaii -- However, if you intend to open the corp. with hopes of bypassing some immigration law or procedure it will not serve that purpose. The stay will still be limited to the tourist visa. Unless the proper immigration hoops are jumped through by employees of the corp. In order to get around those hoops the corp. would have to be over $750,000+.
