Legal Question in Immigration Law in Hawaii

Love or Country

My husband was sentenced to two years in jail for drug possession. He was an illegal immigrant at the time. We had gotten married a year before the arrest but for financial reasons we never got around to filing the papers needed. We have an 8 year old son and are now living in Mexico but our son is with my parents because honestly Mexico is just horrible. Is there any hope (at all) for him to be able to go back to the U.S legally?

Are you American? What was the resolution of Court to release him, Did he fulfilled with the entire sentence? How lon ago all this occurred? What USA State put him in jail?
