Re: finger tip loss

What happened? Was it a work injury or an accident?

Re: finger tip loss

The fair amount of compensation depends upon a number of factors, such as (1) will this affect your ability to perform your duties at work; (2) will this disfigurement affect your duties (ie. hand model, etc.) or will it cause you to lose economic opportunities (employers may not hire you because of the loss of part of your finger); (3) how the disfigurement affects you emotionally; and (4) how much pain and suffering you endured. If you are female, they would likely pay you more because females tend to care more about the apperance of their hands. I am sure that you still have a throbbing pain in the finger now and then. They are obviously looking to pay you as little as possible, probably a few thousand. You need to negotiate with them. Do not accept the first offer unless you feel it is fair. The value of the claim is different for everyone. It is a number that you feel you would be satisfied with, that would compensate you for all of the above, and then avoid having to go to the time and expense of court.
