Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois

Obtain a Separate Finding?

I am planning to open a business which will sell "packaged goods" alcohol. I was convicted of a felony when I was 17, (burglary)and given 1yrs probation. I'm now 35, and have never been in any trouble since then, and understand that I cannot have this charge expunged from my record. However, in order to get a liquor license, I am told that I will have to obtain a "separate finding?" asserting that I have been sufficiently rehabilitated to warrant public trust in order to get the license. I would please like to know how to do this, and what the process involves? Thank you. ^J^

Re: Obtain a Separate Finding?

Hello. You should request

a hearing and have a lawyer

present with you....this

helps!! Wear a suit and

tie and provide as much

information as you have

concerning positive things

that you have done in your

community, your church

affiliation, youth volunteer

work, etc. Good luck...

and remember to bring your

lawyer with you.
