Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

A gentleman came to my door this morning and handed me a court summons. Apparently I'm being sued for an old medical bill. However, when I read the documents thoroughly I noticed a disclosure mixed in with the rest of the information on the summons. It says, 'We are attempting to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose. This communication is from a debt collector.'. This paperwork looks very real, it is stamped with the county seal and seems to be legitimate except that piece of information feels out of place to me. Is there a chance that forms filed in court would bear this disclosure? Could this be a collections tactic?

The documents filed with the court may very well contain that information. Most counties have their records online, so you can see if you have actually been sued. If not, you may have a very, very good Fair Debt Collection Practices Act case.
