Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

i have a judgment im tring to satisfy as im trying to buy a home. the problem is my wages were being garnished for a few years but have recently stopped however nobody seems to know where the payments have been going as the balance indicates an even greater debt now and the original creditor shows no record of any payments. also the attorneys reppresenting the company have since gone out of business. how can i handle the matter since nobody seems to have any answers. thanks

You need to get the records form your employer which show how much was taken out, then try to calculate what the correct balance is and then file a motion seeking a satisfaction, assuming you are prepared to tender any short fall. It is not a simple matter and frankly an atty would be of great assistance to you.
