wage garnishement

Is there a way to get a garnishment amount reduced?

I have extenuating circumstances, being a plaintiff in

a 3-year civil suit with $30,000 balance to my attorney,

whom I pay $500 every time I get paid (I have a $13.00 per hour job). Would this be enough to get a judge to reduce garnished amount instead of going with percentage allowed by law?
