Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

I am 17 and I had a party where there was no drinking inside my house. The cops came due to noise and they ended up getting inside my house. They wanted to breathlize people. Some people blew and it turns out people had drank before they came to the party but most refused to blow. The cops found some beer cans outside my house too. I didn't blow but both my mom and I got tickets. I was wondering what the penalties are and what we should expect on our court date.

First, I want to tell you that these cases always are a PIA. That's technical jargon for pain, etc. These cases typically are assigned to a young States' Attorney looking to make a name for himself or herself. What then appears to you to be a minor thing, all of a sudden becomes a "federal case". The "fix" is to hire a lawyer. From your perspective, the fee of a lawyer would seemingly outweigh the severity of the alleged offense. But lawyers are trained to look over the horizon. This might not mean much to Mom, but to you, depending on how this is charged, it can stay with you for a long, long time, and can prevent some future employment.
