Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

can an attorney write a court order before the judge hears the case?

I am defending myself in family court and am answering a Motion to reduce child support. The attorney for my xhusband went in front of the judge with an order without the judge listening or reading my pleadings and the judge okayed it. Is this allowed.

Hello. Without seeing this firsthand it is hard

to say whether the judge acted without

knowing what was in the order. However, it is

always best to have a lawyer representing you.

Contact the local bar association. You can get

help at a reduced rate. In the long run you

will save money.
