Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Hello!

My husband works in Iraq. He cheated on me with a girl who works in the US Army. We used to be so happy and so in love. We have a little boy together. This woman destroyed everything. I just can't forget about what had happened and what he put me through because of her! She continues to sleep with married men! I know, many people would say that it is normal, because "soldiers get lonely overseas". I don't think so! He was always so faithful to me and i trusted him so much, until she came into our lives! That is how she serves her country? I don't know if i could sue for alienation of affection...

Can you please help?

Thank you so much!

Alienation of affection is very difficult to sue under. In Illinois, its limited to actual damages suffered, and no punitive damages are allowed. Its very restrictive. If you could prove actual damages, which is unlikely, you may have a case, but not a strong one. Good luck.
