Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My sister in law has been divorced for about 5 years. According to the divorce settlement her husband was supposed to sell their house when their youngest son graduated high school about 4 years ago. He never sold the house & she has not received any money from the divorce after being married and in the house for 20 years. Now with the way the market is, they can no longer sell the house for what they could have when he was supposed to sell it. He is also saying when he does sell the house he is going to get more money b/c he's been paying the mortgage all these years. If it were me I would want him to sell the house, pay me half of what it was worth 4 years ago and pay any of my lawyer fees if I have to drag him back to court. What can she legally do? She also does not have any money to hire a lawyer. Please advise. Thanks, April

Why don't you front her the money for a lawyer and she can pay you back when she gets her settlement. Either way, she needs to consult an attorney to find out what her best legal position is. Perhaps she should start with her divorce attorney.
