Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My son is almost 3 months old now. The whole time i was pregnant he was not around. And now that I have had my son he has seen him 3 times. Twice before he was a month old and then again at the 3.5 month mark. Does he have any kind of rights to him as a father if he did not sign the birth certificate and then proceeds to make the comment that when Public Aid goes after for child support to lie and tell them I don't know who the father is. Can my boyfriend that has been in his life sign the birth certificate or adopt him at some point later in the year with out going through anything with the real father?

Public Aid WILL force you to reveal the father or risk losing your benefits. If you point to your current BF, how well do you think that will play out once they drag him into court to submit to a DNA test?
