I am staying at a motel. I moved the television slightly to see it at a better angle, while eating a hamburger.

When I went to move it back into position, it fell off the dresser and the cable ripped out of the back of the television.

The television truly is damaged. The woman at the front desk (I'm guessing she's the owner) told me that I am liable for any damage and must pay for damage.

So, am I responsible for paying to have them fix the TV?
