Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

patient file released to the internet without consent

A surgery center took pictures before and after the proceedure.A surgeon posted the pictures on the internet without patient's permission for the purpose of promoting his specialties. A patient never agreed and there is no such contract signed. What kind of lawyer will represent me with regard to this situation. Apparently my rights are being violated. Thank you for your assistance.

Sincerely

Re: patient file released to the internet without consent

Hello. In my opinion this is a very serious

matter. You should obtain an attorney. Your

right to privacy has been invaded and you

probably have a claim for damages. Certainly

the doctor should have asked your permission

in writing, before publishing these pictures.

It also may be argued that the doctor has engaged

in ethical violations. Any Illinois licensed attorney is eligible to represent you in this claim. You should act quickly to insure that you don't have any statute of limitations problems in bringing this claim and to counter

any defense that you have waived your right to

object to the pictures being published. I will be happy to answer any additional questions that you may have.
