Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

Thanks for the advice. I work part time in retail and the company is now requiring we wear make up,have our nails polished and wear current fashions and colors. This is starting in March. I have worked there six years and now we can get fired if we do not comply. Is this legal?

Provided the policy is not discriminatory and is applied even-handedly, it is legal. Employers are not required to have the same dress code for men and women, but employers cannot single out individuals.
