Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

I have lived in a mobile home park for 14 years with signing a lease when we first moved in. Now the new owners of the park want us to come in and sign another lease. I am in good standing, never being late with a payment. Is this a good idea.

Good or bad, your old lease may not be what the new owners want, may be something the new owners are legally entitled to ask you to sign, and frankly the old lease may not be up to date with the law. Before rejecting the lease totally and risking some kind of eviction, go and get what they want you to sign, tell them you need a day or two to look it over, and take it to an attorney to review. If you can't afford an attorney check with your nearest bar association and they may have a lawyer referral service that might be able to help. But avoiding the issue totally could just lead to disaster.
