Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

Looking for Case Law regarding folding lawnmower handles

My wife cut off part of a finger while folding the handle down on a Ryobi electric lawn mower last summer. The only warnings in the instrutions is to be careful not to cut the cable along the handle in two.

We have filed a lawsuit. I am trying to find out whether or not Ryobi ( or other manufacturers) have had similar suits and their outcome.

Can you point me to a website to help? I have tried search engines to no avail.

Re: Looking for Case Law regarding folding lawnmower handles

One way to find out if Ryobi has been involved in other similar lawsuits is to ask them in an interrogatory during written discovery.

The American Trial Lawyers Association can often provide attorneys with useful information such as this. If you are working with an attorney, he/she may have already contacted ATLA.

If you are not working with an attorney, I would strongly suggest that you consider finding one. Product liability cases such as this are among the most difficult and expensive to try.

Please call me at (312) 346-2522 or (708) 268-7354 in the evening if you have any questions.
