Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

Injured at City Owned Golf Course

I was entering the newly built pro shop at a city owned golf course. Requiring 15 stairs to enter, a city employee opened a window directly over the stairway, upon reaching the thiord step from the top I gashed my forehead requiring several stitches and lost time at work. Is the city negligent? What is my recourse?

Re: Injured at City Owned Golf Course

possibly. It all depends on the details of the placement of the window, the stairs etc...

If the window could not have been noticed by you, there is a good possibility that you may be able to make a claim. Be careful-Premises liability cases are filled with traps that, unless you know the law perfectly, you will fall into any number of them if you want to do this on your own.

I suggest you speak with an attorney and have him evaluate the case in more detail. If you need any more information, I'll be happy to assist you further.

I hope this helps,

Taradji
