Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

hi i am a ups driver for the past 5 years i resently felt a pain at home on my day off i then worked the next three days it had got so bad that i went to the doc i was told i have hernia and would need surgery since i felt the pain out of work i went to the doc on my own and not as awork related injury but i belive that the injury was probly caused over time with all the heavy lifting ido and just so happend to act up on aday off my ? would be if i had any type of injury lawsuite since i now have to have surgery my doc had sad that it probly was caused over time also thanx
