Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

If I am using a secured installment promisory note with the secured property -------(real estate) and borrower located in MO and I live in Illinois, should I use the MO or Il forms?

Of more concern is the mortgage, which should comply with the laws of the state in which the property is located. If you are trying to secure a valid lien on real estate, I would strongly advise that you consult an attorney to assist you. If things are not done properly, you may have no lien at all.

The answer to the question depends on where the real property is located. I assume that the document in question is going to be filed in the chain of title. Thus, the document should conform with the law of the state in which the real property is located.
