Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
When will we own the property?
We bought our house and the lot it's on 10 years ago. We have been maintaining the land around ours for ten years. Will we ever be able to own this land and if so, when? It is private property owned by a non-profit organization.

You have to occupy the land, and show that you are in possession as an owner, with such apparencies like paying the taxes and insuring the property, for twenty years under Illinois adverse possession statute.
