Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois

Worker's Compensation

My son was laid off while on worker's compensation. He was released about 6 weeks after, but has not been able to find a job. This is going on six months. He suffered scarring on his ankles due to the chemical burns he received. Is there anything that can be done?

Re: Worker's Compensation

Your sone definitely can receive compensation for the permanent scarring to his ankles. The exact amount of money he receives depends on the severity of his scarring.

I would be happy to discuss his case with you and/or meet with you both to view his injuries to determine what he might anticipate to receive if he were to file a case. Rest assured, he is entitled to something for his permanent scarring to the ankles.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Re: Worker's Compensation

Dear Sirs:

After six months, if the scar are visible you son can receive workmen's compensation for the burns.

The wrongful termination is an issue that would need to be addressed separately.

Please call should you wish to discuss.

Very truly yours,
