cheque bounce
my landlord gave my deposit of rs.2lakh by way of cheque and i vacated the house since i need to relocate in hurry becos of my company appointment. now when i presented it got bounced and the reasons stated is1.insufficient funds 2.drawer signature dont tally.kindly advice me what should i do asap

you need to see a lawyer immediately.

You may initiate civil and criminal proceedings against the drawer.
Before you decide to initiate criminal proceedings under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act, you will need to give a statutory notice to the drawer demanding payment of the cheque amount.
A civil suit for recovery may also be filed simultaneously.

You contact the person initially and try to settle out of the courts if possible.If he is reluctant then initiate s.138 proceedings against him.Well it takes time,it cannot be solved like what you mentioned ASAP.
