Legal Question in Family Law in India

My father in law is 71 years he has a plot which is an ancestral property. He had no job. Now he applied for old age pension. For this he refused to add my husband's , ,my and our son's name in his ration card. My question is, Does he is eligible for the old age pension if his son is taking care of him and his maintenance? and if it is a ancestral property Does I as daughter in law can ask for the property for my son who is now minor. This is because my father in law had sold most of the plots which were inherited from his ancestors.

your son, your husband and your father in law, all of them stand on the same footing as far as ancestral property is concerned. even a minor child has an equal share at par with his grand father. you may read more on property laws at www.karvai.in
