The Family law in India is envisaged for a cohesive relationship as family between the spouces. If you are neglected/deserted by your spouce, please make reasonable efforts to locate the person and ascertain for what reasons such treatment is meted out to you. If you know the address correctly you can demand restitution of conjugal right as well as maintenance.None is permitted to desert or neglect his/her spouce. If your spouce is an earning member, he/she has a duty to maintain you/your children. So, depending upon your particular situation, before invoking legal remedy through a court of law, you must confirm that you possess legally valid evidence against whom you want the court of law to issue its writ.In Family Courts in India, it is optional that you must engage a lawyer to present/defend your case.
