can a foreigner married to indian woman under resident visa buy and own real estate(land, house) in India?

Yes the foreigner can marry an indian woman on resident visa but cannot buy property individually . There is a way in which foreigner can buy property(ies) and to explain the procedure would take a while but individually or in his name ,he cannot buy.

a foreigner can buy properties in india with the permission of Reserve Bank of India and for that you need to hire a lawyer and he would explain you the process. as you married to an indian national, it would be easier for you to own a property here.

a foreigner can buy property in india individually.immovable property may be purchased by a foreign national residing outside India to carry on a business activity with the approval of the Reserve Bank, the country's central bank.
