Legal Question in Intellectual Property in India

intellectual property rights

How exactly do these rights work? As in, lets say i have an idea for a new product but do not have the resources or the necessary team to develop and market it. So i want to sell it to the highest bidder. Now, i tell my idea to the companies; What's to stop them from just telling me to my face that it's worthless and then going ahead and making it anyway and denying me my royalties? How am i supposed to protect myself?

Re: intellectual property rights

1st of all, by doing all that process u should hire a lawyer. & if you have any idea by which any company can go ahead with that by saying you that its not worthy then Patent cant be granted on ideas,if it is invetion or any improvement on exixiting this then you should patent it, & then if you wish you can assign it to another company by legal process..

Re: intellectual property rights

Good question. These are valid doubts if you have a good idea. However, you must patent, trademark and/or copyright your idea, book or product. It is much easier to sell your packaged item than just going about to the companies. Never go to any deal without a good solicitor and/or attorney, as he will protect your interest, even if preliminary talks take place. Selling good ideas is a slow process, where one needs to be careful and well planned.

Your question is not a legal question, as much a commercial question, which a good law firm will be able to tackle with ease.

I hope I have answered your query.
